We are waking up to spring at last! Isn’t it wonderful to see more of that yellow thing in the sky even though it’s really not that warm yet. Still it is time to get out of hibernation and enjoy the outdoors. And indoors too. Here are my 7 Pretty Spring Tablescape Ideas both indoors and outdoors. Not just for spring but all year round inspiration too!
I just finished a styling job for Portmeirion and their brand marketing. Their new collection, Minerals, are so beautiful and nature inspired. They are made from recycled clay then fired and finished with reactive glaze. Every piece is unique. I did a variety of combinations from very simple styling to a little more floral with pops of colour.
7 Pretty Spring Tablescape Ideas
1. Simple Pink and White Stripe
I started off with Rose Quartz and Moonstone with a stipe table runner. Swap the tulip with any seasonal flower for styling all year round.
Pop a vase of flowers in the centre and instantly elevate the tablescape styling into spring and summer. Add fairy lights and greenery for Autumn and all pink and white Christmas decorations for the festive seaon!
2. Simple Baby Blue and White
In a similar vein to the above, I chose a simple but pretty and classic blue and white table runner, bows to match and natural tones for the napkins. It’s classic with a touch of cute.
Add some lavender sprigs and blue ribbed tealights and voila, the tablescape is immediately on another dimension
3. Pastel Pinks, Lilacs and Lavender
Here I went for stripe lilac napkins for a touch of quirky. It’s a classic and contemporary combo against the white glass table. This would also work against a plain white or pastel pink linen tablecloth.
I love the low bowls – they are great as pasta bowls or poke bowls!
4. Vintage Powder Blue
I paired the Aquamarine plates and bowls with the moonstone side plates against a powder blue vintage damask pattern. I love this look actually – timeless and classic.
For a hint of spring I added some sweet peas and a bunch of white stock along with blue ribbed tealight holders. I also swapped the napkins for white ones to brighten up the vibe.
5. ‘Blue and Green Should Always be Seen’ with Natural Textures
This time it’s Aquamarine and Moonstone with some blocks of green and beige hues. The natural fibres of the table runner complement the clay texture and colour perfectly. For a touch of natural glass sparkle I added amber coupe glasses with green stems.
To pull all the colours together, I dotted around lavender sprigs and white sweet peas for a relaxed vibe.
6. Dusky Hues of Pink and Blues
This time I thought I’d give dark and dusky a try. I styled Rose Quartz and Aquamarine against a dark blue floral tablecloth and used the Amethyst platters as accents.
Some lilac and pale pink tulips brought the floral patterns to life. This has a moody but sophisticated feel to it.
7. All the Colours of Minerals
Last but not least, I also styled all 4 colours in my garden and went for a spring floral tea party vibe with pretty buntings, cupcakes, french fancies, viennese whirls, shortbreads and chocolate almonds. Bring on all the spring sweets!
Here’s a flatlay seen from above against a concrete texture table.
Which one is your favourite of the above 7 styling styles? Top secret tip: I used wallpaper leftovers for table runners! So don’t throw those excess wallpaper lengths away!
I hope these 7 Pretty Spring Tablescape Ideas have given you some styling inspiration. This is not a sponsored post but I styled all the above for Portmeirion and their marketing use.
